Niek Roozen opens "Plantarium" 2013
4 Giugno 2013 - Internationally renowned landscape architect Niek Roozen will open "Plantarium" 2013, the top international nursery trade fair held in Boskoop (Holland), on Wednesday 21 August.
Over the years, Roozen developed his own style, always taking into account how people experience green life, from bulbs to trees. He aims for a look that is as natural as possible and lets green speak. He is therefore the perfect person to home in on the theme of "Plantarium" 2013, "Green speaks", during the opening ceremony.
The seasonal garden of "Plantarium" 2013 will be realised near the central square. In this garden, Niek Roozen will demonstrate that you can achieve a magnificent all-season border for any garden, big or small. After the official opening, Roozen will be in the seasonal garden to explain his vision behind the planting plans.
Niek Roozen graduated from the Rijks Hogere School voor Tuin- en Landschapsinrichting in Boskoop in 1974. After having collaborated with four fellow students for 10 years, he set up Bureau Niek Roozen bv in 1984. This agency is involved in various kinds of projects, at home and abroad, such as parks, garden exhibitions, agricultural exhibitions and theme parks.
The 'Floriade 2002 Principal Designer' project put the agency on the international map, which led to many special projects, particularly in China. Between 1986 and 1997, Roozen, in his capacity as principal architect, was involved in the development of Plantarium and together with Plant Publicity Holland he developed the Green City Philosophy, enthusiastically conveying this in his concepts, trips abroad and lectures.
